Wow what a treat we had on Saturday seeing Rob Kingsley being ‘Elvis’. I had not heard of Rob Kingsley before Saturday but I certainly won’t forget him after his magnificent performance impersonating the Kind of Rock and Roll – Elvis!

Rob is a local lad from Prestonpans, East Lothian, a former Army professional he has given this up to fullfil his dream of being Elvis. Just three years after leaving the army Rob was named top Elvis tribute act in both Europe and the UK.

I didn’t think I knew many Elvis songs but how wrong I was as Rob took us all on a musical journey following Elvis’ life through his songbook. He had the audience laughing with his charismatic charm and wit, dancing along to his brilliant performance of Blue Suede Shoes, Suspicious Minds, Love Me tender as well as some less well known songs. He had the audience in the palm of his hands…

His band, The Cadillac’s, were amazing and as Rob was off stage for costume changes they continued the musical journey with some fantastic performances of their own.
Rob has everything, the looks, the moves, the mannerisms and the voice – allowing us all to have Elvis for a night. To remember just how brilliant Elvis was and how great his songs were. And as I mentioned before I didn’t realise just how many songs I knew.

The whole performance lasted nearly three hours and it flew by. We both loved it and came away singing and humming Elvis songs. So thank you Rob Kingsley, we loved your show and will be looking out for you returning soon.
